Fecal Transplants for ABS
People with Auto-Brewery Syndrome that does not respond to conventional treatments often talk about the possibility of Fecal Microbiota Transplants (FMT) might be an answer to their chronic illness. Hope recently became available in two forms, 1) an article out of Belgium about a patient with ABS who received FMT with success (see resources for reference) and 2) a new documentary called Designer Shit. It’s not been released yet but has a website that directs people to clinics willing to try FMT for various gastro-intestinal (GI) problems such as Crohn’s disease. Currently, FMT is only approved for c. diff in the USA; everything else is experimental. Stay tuned!

You didn’t say where you live or who your doctor is. What kind of help are you looking for?

My husband has this and we known about if for over 5 years. His Dr’s have not helped with this. His Dr’s are not treating this. Any recommendations would be helpful. They continue to overlook this issue and are focused on other issues that may be caused by this condition.
